Did you know our rum yeast is only used once? 

We propagate our yeast for each run. Unlike the beer industry, where yeast is recycled and reused multiple times, we take our proprietary strain of yeast and propagate it for each individual run.

Skull Coast TTB Approved!

Just in time for the Miami Rum Renaissance Festival, the TTB approved our application for a Importer and Wholesaler Permit this week. So, in addition to our Malt Beverage permit, we can now import and sell our distilled spirits to distributors across the United States.

If you are looking for an exceptional rum-beer cocktail for this St. Patrick's Day, you may want to consider combining "Skull Spice" rum with Guinness. We found the following recipe online, called the "Morgasm" or "Blackbeard":

2 oz. of Skull Spice rum (over ice)

fill with cola, leaving 2-3 oz. of room on the top 

2 oz. of Guinness

Apparently, the author of "When the Rum is Gone" came upon this particular beer cocktail while traveling in Edinburgh, Scotland. Okay, it's not Ireland, but it includes Guinness -- which is what we were looking for in our search.
